Double Chocolate Brownies

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Line 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over edges.
  3. Spray with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.
  4. Unwrap or break apart chocolate squares; set aside.
  5. Combine brownie mix, melted butter, water and egg in bowl; stir until well mixed.
  6. Spread half of brownie batter into prepared pan.
  7. Place chocolate squares over batter in single layer.
  8. Top with the remaining batter; spread to cover chocolate completely.
  9. Bake 26-30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
  12. *Substitute 2 (3.5-ounce) filled chocolate bars.
