Double Chocolate Brownies
- 1 (6- to 7-ounce) package (12 to 16) caramel or mint-filled chocolate squares
- 1 (10.25-ounce) package fudge brownie mix
- 1/3 cup Land O Lakes Butter melted
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 Land O Lakes Egg
- Powdered sugar, If desired
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Line 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over edges.
- Spray with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.
- Unwrap or break apart chocolate squares; set aside.
- Combine brownie mix, melted butter, water and egg in bowl; stir until well mixed.
- Spread half of brownie batter into prepared pan.
- Place chocolate squares over batter in single layer.
- Top with the remaining batter; spread to cover chocolate completely.
- Bake 26-30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
- Cool completely.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
- *Substitute 2 (3.5-ounce) filled chocolate bars.
