Fried Green Tomato Parmesan
- 8 slices Green Tomatoes, Fried According To The Recipe In My TastyKitchen Recipe Box
- 8 ounces, weight Italian Sausage (ground Or Removed From The Casings If You Have Links)
- 8 ounces, fluid Marinara (spaghetti) Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
- 1 cup Shredded Italian Blend Cheese
- 1/2 cups Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray an 8x8-inch baking pan with cooking spray.

- Follow the instructions for my Fried Green Tomato recipe from my Tasty Kitchen Recipe box.

- Drain the fried green tomatoes on a paper towel.
- (I didnt, but if you want you can add salt and pepper to taste).
- 3.
- Brown Italian sausage in a medium skillet over medium heat.
- Once its browned, drain off the grease.
- Add 8 ounces marinara (spaghetti) sauce, either store-bought or homemade and mix to combine.
- Set it to the side.

- In an 8 x 8 baking dish, lay 4 fried green tomato slices.
- Top each with 1 to 2 tablespoons of the marinara meat sauce.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 cup Italian blend cheese.
- Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
- 5.
- Layer with the remaining fried green tomatoes.
- Top with remaining marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Top with all the remaining Italian blend cheese.
- 6.
- Bake 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake another 5 to 8 minutes until bubbly and nicely brown.
- Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- Cooks Notes: I dont use salt and pepper in this recipe, but you may want to depending on your taste.
- Easy to make this into a vegetarian dish, just leave out the sausage.
- Casserole is wonderful!
