Basic Beef With Gravy Recipe

  1. Marinate beef in sherry, 1 Tbsp.
  2. soy sauce and 1 tsp cornstarch.
  3. In small bowl, mix 1 Tbsp.
  4. cornstarch, 1 tsp.
  5. soy sauce, 1/4 c. water and 1/2 tsp Accent.
  6. In a deep, cast-iron skillet, heat 1 Tbsp.
  7. oil.
  8. Add in garlic, salt and onions.
  9. Add in marinated beef and stir fry to desired degree of doneness (about 1-2 min).
  10. Add in cornstarch mix and stir till thick and smooth.
  11. Serve with rice.
  12. PEPPER STEAK: Add in 2 c. diced bell pepper.
  13. TOMATO, PEPPER AND BEEF: Add in 1 c. tomatoes and 1 c. peppers, quartered.
  14. CELERY AND BEEF: Add in 2 c. celery, sliced diagonally.
  15. BROCCOLI AND BEEF: Trim tough outer part of broccoli by pulling from bottom of stalk to the head.
  16. Slice diagonally in 1/8-inch slices to make 2 c.. Cook in boiling water 3 min.
  17. Rinse with cool water and drain.
  18. May add in 1 tea- spoon sugar before making gravy.
  19. STRING BEANS AND BEEF: Parboil 2 c. beans (snapped) for 3 min in salted water.
  20. Rinse with cool water and drain.
  21. SNOW PEAS AND BEEF: Add in 1-1/2 c. snow peas.
  22. BEAN SPROUTS AND BEEF: Add in 4 c. bean sprouts and 1 tsp.
  23. soy sauce.
  24. MUSHROOMS AND BEEF: Add in 1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms.
