cold oven pound cake
- 1 cup butter softened
- 3 cup regular white granulated sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp orange extract
- 1/2 tsp lemon extract
- 1 Add the zest of a lemon or orange if you wish
- do not preheat your oven.
- should go into a cold oven.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together.
- to your butter mixture add your eggs one at a time.
- Beat after each egg.
- In a separate bowl add your flour, salt and baking powder.
- I sifted this all together to combined.
- Alternately add flour and heavy cream to batter.
- Beginning and ending with flour.
- stir in your extracts and zest.
- Spray a bunt pan with non stick baking spray.
- Add your batter to pan.
- Place in oven and set oven temperature to 325.
- Baking for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- let cool on a wire rack for 10 to 20 minutes.
- Then turn out on to plate.
- note : if using salted butter omit salt.
- This is a good all purpose pound.
- Good just as it is or with sweetened strawberries .
- Or good with a glaze.
