cold oven pound cake

  1. do not preheat your oven.
  2. should go into a cold oven.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together.
  4. to your butter mixture add your eggs one at a time.
  5. Beat after each egg.
  6. In a separate bowl add your flour, salt and baking powder.
  7. I sifted this all together to combined.
  8. Alternately add flour and heavy cream to batter.
  9. Beginning and ending with flour.
  10. stir in your extracts and zest.
  11. Spray a bunt pan with non stick baking spray.
  12. Add your batter to pan.
  13. Place in oven and set oven temperature to 325.
  14. Baking for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  15. let cool on a wire rack for 10 to 20 minutes.
  16. Then turn out on to plate.
  17. note : if using salted butter omit salt.
  18. This is a good all purpose pound.
  19. Good just as it is or with sweetened strawberries .
  20. Or good with a glaze.
