Sesame Roasted Salmon

  1. In a large bowl whisk together the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, mirin and 1/4 cup canola oil.
  2. Add the salmon filets and coat them in the mixture.
  3. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  4. Position a rack in the middle of your oven and preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  5. In a large saute pan, heat the remaining oil over medium high heat and cook salmon about 2 minutes on each side.
  6. Remove to a baking sheet covered in foil, skin side down.
  7. Using a butter knife, spread an equal amount of the hoisin sauce on the top of each piece of salmon.
  8. Sprinkle each piece with a Tablespoon of the sesame seeds.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 4-6 minutes, until cooked through.
