Healthier French Toast
- 2 eggs
- 12 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 slices bread (whole grain preferably)
- oil
- powdered sugar
- pureed carrot, and
- sweet potato
- Combine eggs, milk, orange puree, maple syrup or honey, cinnamon, and vanilla in a large shallow dish.
- Dip bread until soaked on both sides.
- Cook in skillet over medium heat.
- Use a small amount of oil (or butter) to keep the toast from sticking.
- Allow the first side to brown, then flip to brown the second side of the bread.
- Dust with powdered sugar or top with your favorite syrup.
