Taffy Apples

  1. Combine sugar, corn syrup, molasses and water in a heavy bottom three quart saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until temperature reaches light crack stage (270F).
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in coloring.
  5. Place skewers in apples and plunge into hot syrup, remove quickly and twist until syrup covers the apples.
  6. Turn apples upside down to cool on greased tray.
