Taffy Apples
- 2 cups sugar
- 14 cup corn syrup
- 14 cup molasses
- 23 cup water
- 9 -12 red apples
- 9 -12 wooden skewers
- red food coloring
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, molasses and water in a heavy bottom three quart saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until temperature reaches light crack stage (270F).
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in coloring.
- Place skewers in apples and plunge into hot syrup, remove quickly and twist until syrup covers the apples.
- Turn apples upside down to cool on greased tray.
