Barbecue Sauce Lowfat Recipe
- 1 lb Italian plum tomatoes -- Cored Seeded
- 20 ml Garlic -- finely minced
- 2 Tbsp. Onion -- finely minced
- 1 tsp Chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp Corn oil
- 2 Tbsp. Water
- 2 Tbsp. Tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Red wine vinegar
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. Molasses
- 1 tsp Mustard pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
- In a food processor, puree the tomatoes, and set aside.
- IN a 1 1/2 qt saucepan, saute/fry the garlic, onion, and chili flakes in oil for 2 min.
- Add in the pureed tomatoes and remaining ingredients, and simmer for 15 min, uncovered.
- YIELD: Makes 2 c. Each 1/4-c. serving: 32 cals,
