Honey Cake
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups honey
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 4 cups cake flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Cream shortening and honey.
- Add beaten eggs; mix well.
- Mix cake flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt together.
- Add flour mixture to shortening mixture alternately with the buttermilk.
- Pour into two 9 inch cake pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 40 minutes, until cake tests done.
