Mother's Gingerbread Banana Shortcake Recipe
- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Mix shortening and sugar.
- Add in egg and beat well.
- Stir in molasses and add in dry ingredients and boiling water.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 min.
- While slightly hot cover with whipped cream and sliced bananas.
