Brie And Apple Stuffed French Toast Recipe
- 6 x Large eggs
- 2 c. Lowfat milk
- 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 x Long loaf french bread
- 1/2 x Golden brown delicious apple
- 1 med Wedge brie cheese
- 1 whl nutmeg to grate
- 3 Tbsp. Fresh grated orange zest
- Slice french bread into 24 -1/4 inch slices and place 12 slices in a large baking dish.
- Set the other 12 pcs aside.
- Core apple and thinly slice into 12 pcs.
- Place 1 apple slice on each piece of french bread in baking dish.
- Cut 12 - 1/8 inch slices of brie removing waxy outer coating and place 1 slice on each apple topped piece of bread.
- Place remaining 12 slices of bread on top on brie.
- In blender mix Large eggs, lowfat milk, nutmeg, & cinnamon well.
- Pour egg mix over brie & apple "sandwiches," turning the
- "sandwiches" to insure coating well on both sides.
- Allow bread to soak up all the egg mix proportionately.
- Cook on lightly oiled, covered griddle preheated to 360 degrees.
- Place "sandwiches" brie side down, turning once after cheese has begun to heat.
- Toast should grill to an even golden.
- Serve immediately topped with fresh grated nutmeg and orange zest.
- This delicious dish serves well with fresh berries, Canadian bacon & maple syrup.
