Mary Beth's Lasagne Recipe

  1. Break up sausage into a hard-plastic colander.
  2. Set colander over a 2 qt glass batter bowl and cover with a paper towel.
  3. Microwave on HIGH 5 min.
  4. Drain off fat and place meat in same bowl, breaking up with a fork.
  5. Add in spaghetti sauce, garlic pwdr and basil.
  6. Stir and microwave on HIGH for 7 to 8 min or possibly till bubbly.
  7. In a mixing bowl, combine the cheeses, parsley, egg and pepper.
  8. Spoon the meat sauce to cover the bottom of a 10 x 10 inch dish.
  9. Arrange 4 noodles on the sauce.
  10. Spread half the cheese mix and then half the Mozzarella cheese.
  11. Repeat, with sauce as the final layer.
  12. Cover with a glass lid or possibly plastic wrap.
  13. Microwave on HIGH 6 min; then microwave on 70% power (medium-high) 20 min.
  14. Let rest, covered, 12 to 15 min before serving.
  15. Standing time is crucial to the success of this recipe.
  16. Don't serve before letting stand.
  17. Serves 6 to 8.
