Spiced Black Bean Burgers

  1. Using fork, mash beans in medium bowl.
  2. Mix in onion, breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons salsa, cumin and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Using moistened hands, shape bean mixture into two 3- to 4-inch-diameter patties.
  5. Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat) or preheat broiler.
  6. Brush barbecue rack with oil.
  7. Grill burgers until heated through, about 3 minutes per side.
  8. Grill cut sides of buns until lightly toasted, about 1 minute.
  9. Transfer burgers to bottom halves of buns.
  10. Spoon 1/4 cup salsa over each.
  11. Cover with tops of buns.
