Brunch Buffet Sweet Spiced Cider Recipe

  1. Step 1: In a large saucepan, bring the cider, sugar, lemon juice, 3 cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice to a boil over high heat.
  2. Lower the heat and simmer; uncovered, for 10 min.
  3. Step 2: Remove from the heat and stir in the apple brandy.
  4. Strain into a heatproof pitcher.
  5. Serve immediately in mugs with cinnamon stick stirrers
  6. NOTES : In Elizabethan England, someone said: "They are more strengthened for hard work by Cyder than the very best beer."
  7. Not surprisingly, when English colonists came to America, mulled cider became a favored drink here.
  8. Makes about 2 qts or possibly eight 8-oz servings.
