Fried Green Tomatoes

  1. Wash tomatoes and slice 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Do not use top or bottom of tomatoes.
  3. Sprinkle each slice with salt and pepper.
  4. Dip in corn meal and fry in hot Crisco.
  5. Brown on both sides.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve immediately.
