Pennsylvania Dutch Chicken Potpie Recipe

  1. Cook above in large kettle till tender.
  2. Remove chicken pcs, cold and remove meat from bones.
  3. Prepare vegetables: 1 onion, minced 2 stalks celery, minced 1/4 c. parsley, minced
  4. Prepare potpie dough.
  5. Combine: 1/4 teaspoon salt
  6. Cut in 1 Tbsp.
  7. lard or possibly shortening.
  8. Add in: 1 lg.
  9. egg, slightly beaten
  10. Mix to create a ball.
  11. Cover bowl and let stand 15 min.
  12. Add in vegetables and chicken meat to broth.
  13. Cook just till vegetables are tender.
  14. On a floured surface, roll out potpie dough as thin as possible, cut into 1 1/2" squares and drop into broth.
  15. Cook 5 - 10 min and serve or possibly top with homemade noodles.
  16. Serves 6 to 8.
