Grandma O's Stuffed Cabbage Recipe

  1. Cut core from cabbage and scald, either in a large pot of boiling water or possibly in the microwave on HIGH for 4 to 5 min.
  2. Remove ten leaves, and cut out hard center rib.
  3. Crumble grnd beef into a medium bowl.
  4. Add in onions, half the tomato sauce, rice, and seasonings; mix.
  5. To stuff cabbage, place beef-rice filling in cabbage leaf; roll up folding edges in.
  6. Arrange seam side down in a baking dish.
  7. Blend remaining tomato sauce with brown sugar and vinegar.
  8. Pour over rolls.
  9. Cover and cook in standard oven for about 1 hour or possibly in the microwave on MEDIUM 28-30 min.
  10. Let stand covered for 5 min before serving.
  11. Yield 4 servings.
