Turkey Or Ham Brunch Dish Recipe

  1. Brown turkey in small amount of shortening.
  2. Salt to taste.
  3. (Ham may be substituted.
  4. If so, skip these two steps.)
  5. Spray a 9 x 13 inch casserole with Pam.
  6. Butter both sides of the bread.
  7. Line pan with half of bread (6 to 8 slices).
  8. Combine diced celery and onions with meat.
  9. Sprinkle proportionately over bread.
  10. Cover with remaining bread.
  11. Mix 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk, mayonnaise and Large eggs with beater.
  12. Pour over casserole.
  13. Cover and chill overnight.
  14. Make a white sauce by melting 1/4 c. butter in saucepan over low heat.
  15. Blend in 1/4 c. flour, 1 tsp.
  16. salt, 1 tsp.
  17. Accent and 1/4 tsp.
  18. pepper.
  19. Heat and stir till it bubbles.
  20. Gradually add in 2 c. lowfat milk.
  21. Stir and cook rapidly till thickened.
  22. Cold and chill for next day.
  23. (Save 1/2 c. lowfat milk to thin sauce the next day.)
  24. Before baking, spread grated cheese and thinned white sauce over all.
  25. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 min, then uncover and continue baking for 30 min.
  26. Let stand 5 min before cutting.
