Grammy Linda's Tuna Melt

  1. Split rolls in half horizontally; and brown under broiler or on skillet.
  2. Place rolls cut side up on a cookie sheet pan and set aside.
  3. Mix the 5 tuna salad ingredients.
  4. Refrigerate until ready to make the sandwiches.
  5. Horizontally slice tomatoes of choice.
  6. Divide tuna salad into 8 portionsl and place each portion atop a browned roll half.
  7. Top each with i-2 slices tomato.
  8. Top each with a slice of cheese.
  9. Turn on your oven broiler and place pan of sandwiches 4 inches below broiling element.
  10. Watch carefully and remove when cheese melts to your satisfaction.
  11. ( I do not care for charred or brown cheese; so I remove as soon as cheese drapes over the tomatoes.)
  12. Serve immediately.
  13. Yum!
  14. Tip: For a large group, the sandwiches may be compiled several hours before needed and broiled right before serving.
