Tinklee's Homestyle Fried Chicken
- 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp ground sage
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 shortening for frying the chicken
- mix flour and seasonings together
- heat fryiny pan on just the high side of medium, add shortening to pan for frying the chicken
- dip chicken into flour, add floured chicken to frying pan
- watch heat to make sure its not to hot, turn down if needed or up, when golden, turn and brown the other side
- when chicken is done, remove chicken from pan, and place on paper towels, then serve
- To make chicken gravy with the pan drippings
- drain grease, add flour(the same amount as drippings) to drippings make a roux, then add some chicken broth, stock, or even milk to the roux, bring to boil and boil for 3 mins season to taste and you have a nice chicken gravy to go with
