Tinklee's Homestyle Fried Chicken

  1. mix flour and seasonings together
  2. heat fryiny pan on just the high side of medium, add shortening to pan for frying the chicken
  3. dip chicken into flour, add floured chicken to frying pan
  4. watch heat to make sure its not to hot, turn down if needed or up, when golden, turn and brown the other side
  5. when chicken is done, remove chicken from pan, and place on paper towels, then serve
  6. To make chicken gravy with the pan drippings
  7. drain grease, add flour(the same amount as drippings) to drippings make a roux, then add some chicken broth, stock, or even milk to the roux, bring to boil and boil for 3 mins season to taste and you have a nice chicken gravy to go with
