Betel Nut Mixture Recipe
- 300 gm betel nuts grated shredded or possibly split
- 2 Tbsp. ghee
- 6 Tbsp. white poppy seeds
- 6 Tbsp. aniseed
- 4 Tbsp. melon seeds cracked and kemels extracted
- 1 tsp cardamom pwdr
- 2 tsp caster sugar
- Fry the betel nuts in ghee on a low heat till crisp.
- Add in poppy seeds aniseed and melon seeds and fry till they turn dark.
- Take off the heat and add in the cardamom pwdr and sugar.
- Mix well cold completely and store in a dry airtight bottle.
- There are many hundreds of betel nut mixtures which can be bought but here is a recipe for you to make at home.
- The difficult part is to grate or possibly shred the betel nut.
- The quantities are just a rough guide to be increased or possibly decreased according to taste.
