Bean Soup Roman Style Recipe
- 1 Tbsp. leaf lard
- 1/8 lb salt pork, minced fine
- 1 med onion, minced fine
- 1 clv garlic, minced fine
- 1 stalk celery, minced fine
- 2 x fresh tomatoes, peeled and cut into pcs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 quart hot water
- 2 c. cooked whwite beans
- 1 c. elbow macaroni
- 2 Tbsp. grated Roman cheese
- Heat lard in sauce pan, add in minced salt port, onion, garlic celery and brown well.
- Add in tomatoes, salt, pepper, hot water and beans.
- Cook 5 min.
- Add in elbow macaroni and cook 8 min longer.
- Sprinkle with Roman cheese and serve.
