Vietnamese Sandwiches
- 1 pound Ground Pork
- 1/4 cups Fresh Basil, Minced
- 4 whole Garlic Cloves, Minced
- 3 whole Green Onions, Diced, Divided Use
- 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper, Freshly Ground
- 2 Tablespoons Asian Style Chili Sauce, Divided Use
- 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 13 cups Mayonnaise
- 1 loaf French Baguette
- 1 bunch Fresh Cilantro, Chopped
- 1 cup Pickled Jalapeno Slices
- Mix pork, minced basil, garlic, 1/2 of the green onions, salt, pepper and one Tablespoon of the chili sauce together.
- Mix together with your hands and make medium sized meatballs.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium to medium high heat and fry the meatballs until brown on all sides and cooked through.
- While they are frying, make sauce by mixing mayonnaise, 1 Tablespoon chili sauce and the rest of the green onions.
- Slice baguette into three equal parts and then slice along the side to split it open.
- Spread the sauce on the bread, add cilantro, jalapeno slices and meatballs..
