hearty beef stew with cabbage
- 2 lb of beef of choice
- 1 head of cabbage
- 1 onion
- 1 bag of baby carrots
- 4 red potato
- 1 dash black pepper
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp soup base or two bouillon cubes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 box or can beef broth
- 1 dash celery seed
- cut beef into bite size pieces
- brown beef in a large pot with pepper and garlic powder
- add onion and cook for 3 min
- or 6 cups of cold water if using bouillon cubes(4) if using broth add it
- put lid on pot and cook medium high add celery seed
- cut potato and cabbage set aside
- cook for an hour and a half then add vegetables you can also add a can or frozen mixed vegetables
- continue cooking for 30 to 40 minutes
- add salt if u like cook until veggies are to ur liking.
- enjoy
- delicious with biscuts or sweet cornbread
