Hawaiian NY strip steak
- 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of light or low sodium soy sauce. Regular soy sauce will be to salty
- 1 1/2 cup of pineapple juice
- 1 cup of pineapple chunks, fresh or canned will do
- 1 1/2 tsp of ginger powder, fresh ginger will do
- 4 minced garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp of honey
- Boil all the ingredients in a pot over medium high heat for 5 minutes, then lower temp and continue boiling for 10 min.
- Let it cool completely and add it to your choice of steak.
- I used NY strip steak
- Marinate your steaks for 72 hrs in a glass baking dish covered with siram wrap or a heavy duty zip lock bag.
- Turn every 10 hrs to get even flavors on both sides
- Fire up your grill on high.
- when the thermometer on the grill reads 500 and up, you are ready to cook your steaks.
- Dust a little garlic salt on both sides and Cook 3-4 minutes on each side for med well
