Thousand Island Sauce
- 1/2 cup home-made or commercial mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chile sauce
- 1 shallot or green onion (white part only) finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped red or green bell pepper
- Salt and white pepper
- In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, chile sauce, shallot or onion, and red or green bell pepper.
- Season with salt and white pepper to taste.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, up to 3 days.
