Stir-Fried Water Spinach (Stir-Fried Ong Choy)
- 1 bunch Ong choy (Chinese water spinach)
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 Salt
- 1 Red chili peppers (with the seeds)
- First, go out and buy some water spinach. There wasn't any at the local supermarket, so I ordered some from a farm in Shizuoka through Rakuten.
- Cut the water spinach.
- Cut the stems into about 3 cm lengths and the leaves into about 5 cm pieces (easy-to-eat sizes).
- Heat the frying pan over high heat, add the sesame oil and finely chopped garlic, and the thinly sliced red chili peppers.
- Lightly stir-fry.
- When the garlic has browned, add the stems.
- When they have cooked, add the leaves and stir-fry.
- Once it comes out like this, it's ready.
- Season with some salt.
