German Dark Maidens In Skirts (Mohrle Im Hemd)
- 1 cup butter
- hard margarine
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 pkg. (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk
- 25 to 30 ladyfingers
- 2 tbsp. rum
- 1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
- Cream margarine or butter and sugar.
- Beat in egg yolks, continuing to beat until thoroughly blended.
- Melt chocolate bits in top of double boiler over hot (not boiling) water.
- Add milk, stirring to combine thoroughly.
- Cool.
- Gradually add chocolate milk to margarine mixture; stir until thoroughly blended.
- Sprinkle ladyfingers with rum.
- In a deep 2-quart casserole, arrange alternate layers of ladyfingers and chocolate mixture.
- Chill thoroughly.
- Decorate with whipped cream.
- Serve cold.
