Baked Short Ribs

  1. Place short ribs in Dutch oven in a 400 degrees oven.
  2. Braise short ribs in oven until browned.
  3. Remove ribs and discard grease.
  4. Place ribs back in Dutch oven.
  5. Slice onion, carrot, celery and mushrooms and mix them with the tomato sauce and solid tomatoes, beef broth, wine, spices, salt and pepper.
  6. Mix with short ribs and place back in oven.
  7. Bake 1-1/2 hours or until tender, stirring occasionally.
  8. Serve with rice or noodles.
  9. If gravy is too thin, thicken with flour and water mixture.
  10. If too thick, add more beef stock.
