Salisbury Patties
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1 teaspoon onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons nonfat milk
- optional
- Cream Gravy made with 1/2 cup Creamy Gravy Mix
- parsley
- Combine all ingredients and form into patties.
- Brown under medium Broiler flame for about 10 minutes, turning once, or cook in a hot skillet, turning frequently. (Broiling will make slightly patties less "fat".).
- In medium mixing bowl combine powdered milk, flour, and salt. Cut in butter.
- until crumbly.
- In saucepan, combine 1/2 cup Creamy Gravy Mix to make Medium White Sauce to which additional finely chopped browned onions have been added.
- NOTE: Creamy Gravy Mix
- Recipe Makes 3 cups of mix, uses only 1/2 cup).
- 1 1/3 cup Non Fat Dry Milk Powder.
- 3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour.
- 1 teaspoon salt.
- 1/2 cup Butter (I use Brummel and Brown yogurt butter).
- Serve Salisbury Patties topped with Creamy Gravy, sprinkled with optional Parsley.
