Hearty Beef Ragout

  1. Wipe beef well.
  2. Combine 13 cup flour with salt and pepper.
  3. Toss beef cubes with flour mixture to coat thoroughly; place in crockpot.
  4. Add remaining ingredients except 2 tb.
  5. flour and the water in order listed; stir well.
  6. Cover and cook on Low setting for 7 to 12 hours.
  7. One hour before serving, turn to High setting.
  8. Make a smooth paste of 2 tb.
  9. flour and the water; stir into crockpot, mixing well.
  10. Cover and cook until thickened.
