Fried Granny Smith Apples
- 2 granny smith apples
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp REAL butter
- Peel, core and cut apples into slices
- Melt butter in skillet over medium heat
- Add apples and drizzle them with lemon juice
- Let apples simmer until most of the butter is absorbed and apples are tender.
- (do not overcook, apples should be firm to the touch, yet tender with a little give to the bite)
- Stir together both sugars and sprinkle over apples.
- Toss to combine, lower heat of needed
- Let apples cook until sugars are completely dissolved and syrupy
- Remove from heat and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
- Toss to distribute cinnamon evenly.
- Plate apples and serve hot
