Sweet Pork Wrap
- 1 lb pork
- 2 cups rice
- 2 tablespoons Thai fish sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 green onions
- 18 cup cooking oil
- 18 cup water
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 1 cabbage (fresh)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seed oil (optional)
- Chop green onion in 1/4 in length put aside.
- Cook white rice.
- Chop pork ( about a lb) into bite size pieces (shoulder & loin are best).
- Heat oil in hot wok (high - med high) add sesame oil just before adding ingredients.
- Add 1/2 cup of brown sugar (dry measure) to wok and let melt 15-25 sec.
- Add 1/8 cup of water, 2 tblsp of thai fish sauce, & 3 tlbsp of soy sauce into a bowl then into wok after sugar has melted CAREFUL!
- The oil will splash so have a lid ready to cover.
- Add pork to wok and cook the water will help cook the pork with the lid.
- 4-5 minutes Reduce heat, remove lid so the pork gets thick.
- When done lay a green piece of fresh cabbage leaf (washed) and add rice then pork and then green onions on top, close cabbage and serve.
- How much rice pork and onions is up to you, can be serve very small for appetizers or as a rice bowl with cabbage leafs surrounding the edges with pork and onions on top for a main dish.
