Black Cherry Dessert Cake Recipe
- 3 x Large eggs
- 1 c. Sugar
- 1 3/4 c. Flour, all-purpose
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 2 Tbsp. Water
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp Almond extract
- 1 1/3 c. Pitted Bing cherries, fresh or possibly canned
- 1/4 c. Minced walnuts
- Beat Large eggs till light; gradually add in sugar; beat till lemon-colored.
- Add in sifted dry ingredients.
- Add in water, vanilla, and almond extract; mix well.
- Pour into two prepared round layer pans.
- Drop cherries over batter (save some for garnish).
- Sprinkle with nuts.
- Bake in moderate oven, 350 f , 30 min.
- Serve slightly hot with sweetened whipped cream between layer and over top.
- Garnish with whole cherries.
