Pig Candy!

  1. Preheat your oven to 375F.
  2. Mix the syrup and cayenne pepper well in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Coat both sides of each bacon slice generously with brown sugar.
  4. Arrange the bacon on a wire rack inside a sheet pan.
  5. Bake in the center rack in your oven until the sugar is starting to caramelize and the bacon just starts to crisp around the edges.
  6. This should take about 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your bacon.
  7. Remove from the oven and brush each slice with the syrup mixture and bake another five minutes.
  8. Flip the bacon over and brush the other side with the syrup.
  9. Put it back in the oven and bake until the bacon reaches your desired doneness.
  10. Remove from the oven and let sit five minutes.
  11. Enjoy, but try not to eat it all at once.
