London Broil with Balsamic Sauce

  1. Preheat your broiler and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Salt and pepper the meat.
  3. Using a large skillet over low heat, mix the vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and the bay leaf.
  4. Simmer this until the liquid has reduced by half and is a syrupy, about 5 minutes.
  5. Discard the bay leaf.
  6. Place your london broil on the baking sheet and cover it with the glaze.
  7. Broil the meat 4 inches from the heat about 4 to 5 minutes per side, longer for more done meat.
  8. Place meat on a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Slice the meat against the grain in thin slices and serve.
  10. Tip: Mom always cracked the oven door open when using the broiler so the meat doesnt burn.
