Chippy Meringues

  1. Partially beat egg whites; add cream of tartar and salt.
  2. Beat fairly stiff.
  3. Add sugar gradually and continue beating until stiff.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Drop by small teaspoonfuls on heavy brown paper or parchment paper, about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake at 325F for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove from paper.
  8. They may be stored in an airtight container.
  9. Yield: 5 dozen.
