Mary'S Fruit Cake

  1. Cream Crisco and sugar.
  2. Add egg yolks, one at a time, and beat well.
  3. Add liquids alternately with dry ingredients (except 1 cup flour).
  4. Add stiffly beaten egg whites.
  5. Fold in fruits and nuts that have been dredged in one cup flour.
  6. Steam 3 hours and dry out in slow oven for 1 hour.
