Pickled Red Onions
- 6 red onions
- 2 cups red wine vinegar
- 2 cups sugar
- 32 ounces borscht
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- Sweat onions.on low heat.
- in a separate pan --.
- add:.
- red wine vinegar.
- sugar.
- bring to boil.then remove from heat.
- add: onions, borscht, and spices.
- simmer on stove 30 min -- .
- *excellent on grilled teriyaki burgers and grilled teriyaki chicken sandwiches.
