Eggless Cakes

  1. Combine raisins, sugar, water, margarine, cinnamon,nutmeg and cloves.
  2. Heat to a boil and simmer 2 minutes.
  3. Cool for 1 hour.
  4. Resift flour with soda and salt and stir into cooled raisin or date mixture with nuts.
  5. Turn into a greased 9 inch tube pan or square pan.
  6. Bake at 300 degrees (150 C.) for 50 to 60 minutes until cake tests done.
  7. Cool in pan.
