Uncle George's Alaskan Dough Boys (Aka: Northern Donuts)
- 14 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 (12 ounce) can fat-free evaporated milk (you can use regular)
- 16 ounces loaf frozen white bread dough
- Thaw bread dough (about 2 hours at room temperature) and let the bread dough rise according its package directions.
- Divide dough into 8 pieces and stretch to size and shape of a thin maple bar (about 1/2 inch thick).
- Deep fry the chunks of dough until they are golden brown and then turn them over; repeat.
- In a medium sauce pan dissolve the cornstarch and sugar into the milk and heat until thickened.
- Pour into individual serving bowls for dipping.
- If you would like, slice the Dough Boys in half lengthwise, butter and put back together; dip into the milk mixture a bite at a time and enjoy!
- *prep time does not include time to thaw or rise dough.
