Bittersweet Chocolate Creme Brulee With Caramelized Bananas Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  2. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, bring the lowfat milk and cream, mixed together, to a boil.
  3. Add in the minced chocolate to the cream-and-lowfat milk mix; set aside for 5 min.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with the granulated sugar.
  5. While whipping the egg mix, pour in the chocolate mix.
  6. Let cold.
  7. Fill 6 ungreased 4 oz ramekins with equal amounts of of the chocolate brulee mix.
  8. Poach in a water bath in the oven for 50-60 min, or possibly till set.
  9. Transfer ramekins to a baking sheet and let cold.
  10. Decorate the top of each with 5 or possibly 6 slices of bananas.
  11. Sprinkle brown sugar and broil the creme brulees under the broiler till the sugar melts and turns a golden brown color.
