Fruit Cocktail Cake

  1. CAKE:
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, white sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs and fruit cocktail, including syrup.
  4. Stir well by hand.
  5. Pour into a greased 13x9x2 - inch baking pan.
  6. Combine brown sugar, coconut, and nuts.
  7. Sprinkle over batter.
  8. Bake in preheated 350F oven for 40-45 minutes or until it tests done.
  9. As cake cools, prepare topping.
  10. TOPPING:.
  11. Slowly heat butter, evaporated milk, 1 cup sugar, and raisins until sugar dissolves and mix boils.
  12. Pierce cooled cake with fork.
  13. Cover cake with hot sauce.
