Homemade Picante Salsa over Steak
- 1/2 whole White Onion, Diced
- 1 whole Jalapeno, Diced And Seeded
- 1 whole Green Bell Pepper, Diced
- 2 whole Chipotle Peppers In Adobo Sauce, Minced
- 2 whole Beef Steak Tomatoes, Diced And Seeded
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Chipotle Pepper Hot Sauce
- 2 teaspoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Cumin
- 2 Tablespoons Chopped Cilantro
- 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
- 3 whole Steaks
- 2 teaspoons Steak Seasoning
- 2 cups Corn Chips (optional)
- Chop veggies.
- Heat oil in skillet over medium heat and cook onion and peppers until tender.
- Add tomatoes, chipotle pepper sauce, sugar, chili powder, salt and cumin.
- Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer.
- Cook for 20 minutes.
- Then add cilantro and liquid smoke to the sauce.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and place sauce in a bowl.
- Season steaks with steak seasoning.
- Use same skillet that the picante was cooked in to cook the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side over medium high.
- Remove steak from the skillet and serve picante over steaks with corn chips on the side to scoop up the extra salsa!
