Raisin Sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 1/2 cup water hot
- 1 cup raisins, seedless
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 x black pepper freshly ground
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves ground
- 18 teaspoon mace
- 1 cup currant jelly
- Simmer the brown sugar and water together for 5 minutes, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
- Add all remaining ingredients, and cook until jelly dissolves.
- Simmer an additional 10 minutes.
- Maybe made in advance and kept refrigerated until ready for use.
- Reheat slowly until simmering.
