Tanyas Beef Stew

  1. Place flour in a plastic bag.
  2. Add meat cubes, a few at a time, shaking to coat.
  3. In a large saucepan or dutch oven brown meat, half at a time, in hot oil.
  4. Return meat to saucepan.
  5. Add juice cocktail, onion, bouillon granules, garlic, basil and thyme.
  6. Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
  7. Cover; simmer 1 1/4 hours for beef or till meat is nearly tender.
  8. Add potates, carrots and celery.
  9. Cover; simmer 30 minutes more.
  10. Skim fat.
