Sausage Stuffed French Loaf Recipe
- 1 pound warm bulk sausage
- 1/2 c. minced green onions
- 1/2 c. minced celery
- 2 Large eggs
- 1/3 c. lowfat milk
- 8 ounce. shredded cheese
- 1 French loaf
- 1/2 stick butter
- Slice French loaf lengthwise.
- Remove crumbs from each side (about 1 1/2 c.).
- Cook sausage, onions and celery till done; drain.
- Mix sausage mix with bread crumbs, Large eggs and lowfat milk.
- Put sausage mix on bottom of bread loaf.
- Cover with top of loaf.
- Wrap tightly with aluminum foil and bake 30 min at 350 degrees.
- Remove from oven.
- Cover sausage with shredded cheese.
- Replace top and rub top and sides with butter.
- Return to oven, uncovered, for about 5 min.
- Slice and serve.
