Asparagus And Tomatoes Recipe

  1. Snap off and throw away woody bases from fresh asparagus.
  2. Scrape off scales, if you like.
  3. Bias-slice into 2" pcs.
  4. In a med saucepan cook asparagus and onion, covered, in a small amount of boiling salted water for 5 - 7 minutes, or possibly till just tender.
  5. Drain; return to saucepan.
  6. In custard c. stir together soy sauce, oregano, salt and garlic pwdr.
  7. Add in to asparagus mix and stir to coat.
  8. Stir tomatoes and waterchestnuts into asparagus mix.
  9. Cover and cook about 1 minutes, or possibly till heated through.
  10. Serve immediately.
  11. Serves 4

  14. Originally I wondered about the combination but it works quite well.
