Grape Sorbet

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the sugar and 1/3 cup water and cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Set aside to cool.
  3. Combine the grapes and the remaining 1/4 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook until the grapes start releasing their liquid.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer until the grapes break apart, about 3 minutes.
  6. Pass the mixture through a food mill or a fine sieve.
  7. Let cool.
  8. Stir in the lemon juice followed by the sugar syrup until sweetened to your liking.
  9. Refrigerate until cold.
  10. Transfer the mixture to an ice-cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturers instructions.
