Fresh Corn and Sausage Fritters

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, and spices together in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add sausage, corn, egg yolks, and milk; mix until blended.
  3. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
  4. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls into oil heated to 360 to 365 degrees.
  5. Cook 3 to 5 minutes, turning to brown on all sides.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
